The long resource stock winter is thawing and, this time, it's being led by commodities

Remember the crypto winter? Bitcoin was going to zero… the laser eyes were mocked to no end… and people everywhere with zero skin-in-the-game rejoiced, for some weird reason, at the demise of the stablest of coins.

What a difference a season makes!

Bitcoin is now at record highs and, according to our crypto expert Chris Curl, headed much higher. In the words of the great poet Method Man — how high? You’ll have to subscribe to his service for that. Shameless plug, it’s the best crypto service in the business.

Those of you who follow my work will know that I don’t dabble in the crypto space. Call me old, call me simple… I get called a lot of things… the point is, I stick to my knitting, which is resource stocks.

Which brings me to why mention Bitcoin at all? The answer is that we are presently in a resource stock winter that, much like Bitcoin, is thawing and is going to catch a lot of people off guard.

The commodities are leading the way this time. Gold is at all-time highs, uranium is headed there, lithium has bottomed. And quality stocks are already starting to recapture a lot of the consolidation that’s taken place over the last nine-plus months.

Even copper is slowly but surely marching towards the US$4/lb level despite a sluggish global backdrop.

The part about this resource winter that makes me excited is that so few are paying attention and even less are allocating capital to it. And that makes it easier for me to identify opportunities in the space, establish aggressive positions, and wait for the thesis to play out. 

The fortunes that are going to continue… because we’ve been doing it with uranium and lithium already… to be made are going to be life-changing.
