Meet Your Editor: Nick Hodge

I’ve known Nick Hodge for over a decade. I met him during our first financial publishing jobs in Baltimore circa 2011.

It was immediately apparent to me that this guy was motivated, intuitive and strong.

Nick was by no means an expert at the time, but the amount of research he put in inspired me to do the same. I learned a lot from him, as I’m sure you have as well. During this blooming period he was banking triple-digit gains from the energy sector. He did it again in the mining sector.

And he just kept doing it…

I’ve personally watched him do it over and over for years.

As the late journalist Sydney J. Harris once said, “The whole purpose of education is to turn mirrors into windows.”

Nick does that for the investment community.

His insight into complex issues like financial trends, stock structures and federal monetary policy is boiled down into a digestible meal to satiate any investor – from experts to novices. He’s opened the window for thousands of investors.

I spoke with him to dig into his career – starting from his early days paper trading in high school to cutting his teeth in the financial publishing industry to building wealth for himself, his family and his readers.

Nick runs several services. Foundational Profits, where he shows you a lifelong blueprint for building a retirement-grade investment portfolio without paying a financial advisor a massive fee to do it for you.

In Hodge Family Office, he shows you exactly what he’s doing with his speculative capital. He’ll give you specific companies at a specific price with a specific catalyst in mind. Higher risk, higher reward.

He lays out all of his investment philosophies for these publications in the video below.

We also discuss:

  • What Nick looks for in stock structure
  • Why Nick “eats his own cooking” unlike other publishers that don’t have any skin in the game
  • How Digest Publishing is unique for reader experience and communication
