A new year, a new administration, and a new day in the world of speculative “investments.”
I recently had the pleasure of chatting with the editor of Digital Dispatch John Carl who came on to the Bizarro World podcast — which you can now watch in real-time by clicking here — as a guest to help shed some light on the rapid advancements in the tech space, memecoins, and other topics.
Me, being a simple guy, wanted to better understand the fundamental difference between the Hawk Tuah coin and the new Trump coin.
Spoiler Alert: There is none because there are no fundamentals. It’s simply a popularity contest. Neither coin does something the other does not.
I walked away feeling like the junior resource space sector, where I allocate the bulk of my time and capital, was safe compared to the madness of going into the crypto space.

I recently returned from the Vancouver Resource Investment Conference, which was perhaps the single-best attended resource conference I’ve been to in quite some time. After back-to-back meetings literally all day for several days, I walked away as excited as I’ve been in quite some time.
That excitement has translated to me writing multiple checks just this week for two private placement deals that weren’t even on my radar two weeks ago. I’ll be writing another one next week on an invite-only deal that I was lucky enough to be included in yesterday.
All three private placements are deals that materialized because capital is starting to sense that 2025 is going to be a very profitable year for those positioned correctly; deals that provide attractively-priced stock and, in several cases, a full warrant good for multiple years.
That’s the kind of leverage that provides extremely lucrative returns. And it’s why Nick Hodge and I will be hosting a webinar on that very topic on 12 February 2025.
