Cannabis on Steroids

If we’re in the middle of “Cannabis 2.0”... then “Cannabis 3.0” is already on the way.

Only it’s not marijuana, it’s mushrooms.

The mushroom market is now developing in a very big way.

And not just for psychedelics and medicine — though those alone are set to grow into a $7 billion market in the next couple of years.

But the overall mushroom market is expected to be some five times bigger than that — over $30 billion in the same time —  as we harness the power of how mushrooms grow to help replace plastic and styrofoam.

There's a company that can already grow a mushroom-based styrofoam to any desired shape, for example. And then it decomposes in 30 days.

This is called biomimicry or biosynthesis. Using nature's biological processes and harnessing them, or isolating them, to make them do things you want.

I just cited one example: growing packaging.

But there are all kinds of uses.

Adidas is making mushroom leather sneakers.

And then there are people growing them at home. Ask your wife if she's seen mushroom kits for sale on Instagram, for example, where you grow these prespored kits, like you would grow a Chia Pet back in the day. But in this case, you're growing mushrooms that you can put in a salad or have with your meal.

It's all in the infancy stages for what is setting up to be a much bigger market as the legalization of the psychedelic component develops, and as people see the additional benefits of certain mushrooms for health and what’s being called the “functional mushroom” category.

It's very early days. There have only been a handful of companies that have listed publicly. There's been a handful of private companies that are raising money and plan to list.

It very much reminds me of cannabis when the regulations were still murky, when it was still not legal in many places, when the research was still just starting to be done. And when the deals were just starting to be formed that went on to become the Aphria's and the Canopy's and the other early leaders.

So it's probably worth having a look and getting a bit familiar with the space. And as a speculator, making a few smart bets and seeing if something is to come of this.

Because it has all the makings of a cannabis-type market, especially when you look at the retail interest in the sector. We know we have tens of millions of armchair traders now — WallStreetBets, etc. — that have seen the power of the market and how fast stocks can go up.

And so when you throw that into the mix, it seems like mushrooms could be a very interesting speculation.

Members of Nick Hodge’s Family Office are participating in a private mushroom deal this week. It is expected to start trading shortly.

The details are being sent out today to paid members... and the deal will likely close this week.

If you saw how lucrative getting into cannabis stocks at their birth stage was... mushrooms are offering that same opportunity now.

But this deal is only available to the high net worth investors at Nick Hodge’s Family Office.
